There’s always so much going on in Myrtle Beach that you’d need a personal planner just to keep you up to date on everything! Today we’ll tell you about the Kids Triathlon Race coming up mid-month and it will be close to the Myrtle Beach condos you’ll be staying in. If you haven’t made your reservations yet we urge you to do so soon! Check our website for the special rates we are offering on many of our Myrtle Beach condos.
Myrtle Beach Recreation will be hosting its 3rd Annual Kids Triathlon on Friday, August 19th for ages 7-18. This event encourages young boys and girls to lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the benefits of swimming, cycling, and running. Registration fee is $17 City Resident and $25 Non-City Resident.
The event includes swimming, bicycling and running elements, with race distances determined by age. All participants will receive a shirt, swim cap and medal. Ribbons will be awarded to the top girls and boys in these age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18. The registration deadline is Friday, August 12.
Thursday, August 18th is Packet Pick-up & Course inspection from 4-7 p.m. Located in the Transition Area directly behind “Pepper” Geddings Recreational Center, 3205 Oak Street, Myrtle Beach, SC.
On Friday, August 19th the Transition Area is open from 8-8:45 a.m. It reopens for equipment pickup after the last athlete has finished the race. Race starts at 10 a.m. sharp. The Awards Lunch is at noon. Don’t miss it!
Year after year this event brings families together for fun — from a family vacation on the beach right outside your Myrtle Beach condos to the triathlon awards lunch where you proudly watch your children receive their recognition. It’s something the kids will never forget. Swimming, biking and running are all things kids love to do naturally, but put them together into a triathlon and watch your kids reach new heights of fun and personal achievement. Triathlons aren’t just for adults! In 2011 alone 13 similar races have been conducted in South Carolina to introduce this great sport and the benefits of physical activity among young people.
