Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art takes place on Litchfield Plantation from September 18 through October 2. The 2011 Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art kicks off with the Wine Gala fundraiser on September 23, followed by 2 weeks of both visual and performing arts. Performing acts include Spyro Gyra, The Kickin Grass Band, Ball in the House, David Osborne Trio, and The Hit Men. Visual arts include a Film Festival, Chalk Under the Oaks, a Gallery Crawl, and a performance by the Bits ‘N Pieces Puppet Theater.
The Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival takes place from Friday to Sunday, September 23-25, 2011. Located at Atalaya Castle in Huntington Beach State Park (16148 Ocean Hwy) in nearby Murrells Inlet. The festival features more than 100 fine artisans. The festival provides aesthetic beauty against a background of natural beauty. Enjoy fine art, quality crafts, lots of Lowcountry food, and the area’s finest musicians. Daily festival admission fee is $6 for adults. A multi-day pass is available for $10. Visitors 15 years old and under are admitted free. Admission to the park during the festival is also free.
