Not only will you be able to feast on fresh local seafood served up by the village’s waterfront restaurants, but you can also join the thousands of other fish fanatics at the Little River Shrimp Festival, for more than 150 art and craft vendors set up on Mineola and Waterfront avenues and a children’s activity area, including face painting, stilt walkers and balloon artists.
The Little River Shrimp Festival, formerly known as the Shrimp & Jazz Festival, will also feature two stages of live music entertainment both days – from acoustic artists to full rock bands, zydeco, brass and more. (The lineup is from last year, as Hurricane Matthew canceled the shrimp festival and prohibited those bands from taking the stage.)
The Little River ShrimpFest is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5. For more info, visit littlerivershrimpfest.org.
