We’ve all done it. We get to the beach and realize we left something, usually something essential, at home. It didn’t make it into the beach bag!
Well, never fear. In this blog we’re going to give you the checklist of what you need and spotlight why. So, go ahead and bookmark this page in your browser (or print it out if you’re old school).
You’ll need it next time you visit us here in Myrtle Beach.
Sunscreen: The most important item, bar none. You’ll need it throughout the day to make sure you won’t burn. One application is usually not enough. And make sure to check the expiration date before packing up. Bonus packing item: lip balm with SPF to protect your pucker.
Shades: What good is going to the beach if you can’t see it? Those rays can also lead to wrinkles around your eyes, and no one wants that. Even if you’re hitting the sand on a cloudy day, pack them.
Hat: Another sun protectant. But, it can double to keep your hair in check if it’s a windy day.
Beach towel: Another must. Even if you’re lugging along a beach chair to sit on, it’s always good to have a towel handy. You may want to take a dip in the ocean and need to dry off. Or if it’s a really warm day, that chair you’re sitting on may get a little hot. The towel will then be an excellent buffer to keep your skin a little cooler.
Extra Clothes: It’s always a good idea to have an extra set of duds with you. When going to the beach, most people wear their swimsuits straight there. But if you’ve got plans to head somewhere before going home, you may not want to be doing errands in a sandy, wet suit.
iPod: Nothing makes a day at the beach more complete than the tunes you love. It doesn’t matter if you’re into rock, r&b or country, when you can play the perfect song to complement the rhythm of the waves it makes a good day great.
Water: Hydration is key when spending a day on the beach. Whether you take a couple of smaller bottles or one grande, make sure to take more than you think you’ll need. The last thing you want to happen after a great day of fun is a night in the ER due to getting dehydrated.
So, get that beach bag ready and visit us here to book your next vacation!
