If you’re heading to Myrtle Beach this year for your annual vacation, you’re going to have a lot of new things to do and explore.
There are numerous attractions now open or opening very soon, for you and your family to take advantage of when you’re not lounging on the beach.
Go Ape Treetop Adventures
If you’re a climbing enthusiast or just want to try something new, check out the new Go Ape Treetop Adventures park, located at the new North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex,. It includes five zip lines, several rope ladders and two Tarzan swings. Other features include a Spider Web, Flying Carpet, Zigzag Bridge and Jungle Crossing.
In total there are more than six acres of fun to be had. Children 10 and up can participate are invited to participate, as long as they are at least 4’7’ tall, and adults must weigh under 285 pounds.
North Carolina’s oldest winery recently set up shop here along the Grand Strand. Mostly known for producing sweet, drinkable Muscadine varieties, Duplin will be debuting their tasting facility this spring in North Myrtle Beach adjacent to Barefoot Landing. According to Duplin representatives, they are creating a “casual fun filled atmosphere where folks can come and drink wine after a day at the beach.”
If you’re a fan of Bass Pro Shops, you’re going to really enjoy the latest outdoors-themed shopping attraction in Myrtle Beach. Set to open in April, Gander Mountain will offer apparel and equipment for hunting, fishing, camping, boating, shooting, off-roading, and much more. And there will even be a section for home décor and gifts, just in case the person on your shopping list has all of the equipment they could ever need.
Hollywood Wax Museum
The Hollywood Wax Museum is the latest landmark to dot Highway 17 and a new highlight for Broadway at the Beach. The only attraction of its kind in Myrtle Beach, Hollywood Wax Museum is the sole wax museum in the country devoted entirely to celebrity figures.
The two-story Museum brings tourists and locals alike into the world of Hollywood stars and allows visitors to get close to some of the most famous people in show business, recreated so faithfully it’s almost like they’re alive. Uncanny replicas housed here include Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and many more.
