LuLu’s New Ropes Course
Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s—North Myrtle Beach is now taking things to new heights since its opening in June 2018. As of this March, LuLu’s restaurant revealed a new tropical-themed ropes course: the Mountain of Youth.
The family-friendly LuLu’s in Barefoot Landing is expanding on its mantra of “fun, food and music,” with the 48-foot-tall, multi-level rope course that features 26 elements and ends with an optional free-fall exit. Never fear, safety is key, as participants will be equipped with a harness throughout the course. And fun is the main attraction at this bright-colored climbing addition, along with a new Beach Arcade, where the kids can make dinnertime playtime on any of the host of new and popular vintage arcade games. The Mountain of Youth does require an admission charge.
LuLu’s Restaurant
It’s all a great way to work up an appetite before you sit down for lunch, dinner or snacks at Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s—North Myrtle Beach. Owner Lucy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett’s little sister, also has two original LuLu’s locations in Destin, Fla., and Gulf Shores, Ala.
No matter which LuLu’s you choose to experience in the Southeast, the restaurant concept, remains the same: a waterfront setting that features a family-focused experience, including a sandy beach, a Fountain of Youth splash area, a huge climbing ropes course, arcade, boat dock, live music each night, and a gift shop stocked with gifts like Lucy Buffett’s new cookbook, “Gumbo Love.”
The one here in our neighborhood is beautifully situated on the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway between Greg Norman’s and Taco Mundo, an area that’s gotten quite the facelift within Barefoot Landing and has become quite the asset in the Myrtle Beach resorts and condos area.
LuLu’s menu does not disappoint! Expect to dine on Southern specialties made with love, such as LuLu’s Famous Seafood Gumbo; the specialty “Pa-menna” Cheeseburger, a half-pound burger stacked with Pa-menna cheese (pimento cheese), bacon, fried green tomatoes and French fries; any of the fried seafood baskets; and the Hot Fun Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding for dessert. LuLu’s even caters to those with food sensitivities and allergies, with special allergy menus (gluten-, egg-, seafood-, shellfish-, dairy-, and soy-free), and a separate section of the kitchen for special prep.
In tandem with LuLu’s unbeatable food is a fun drink menu, featuring LuLu’s own beer, the Crazy Sista Honey Ale, an endless list of margaritas, and frozen drink options fresh from the blender.
