Every year on March 10th at the Atalaya Castle in Huntington Beach State Park (16148 Ocean Hwy in Murrells Inlet), the Friends of Huntington Beach State Park host a fundraiser to celebrate this special day that honors the birthdays of both Anna Hyatt Huntington and Archer Huntington, as well as their wedding anniversary. A special “wedding” cake and refreshments will be served at Atalaya, the Huntington’s former winter home. Atalaya is a National Historic Landmark. Run to the Sun XXIV” Car and Truck Show is being held March 15 – 17 at the former Myrtle Square Mall Site on Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach. The Pee Dee Street Rodders and City of Myrtle Beach present the “Run to the Sun XXIV” Car and Truck Show, March 15-17, at the former Myrtle Square Mall site. The annual “Run to the Sun” has been described as the “largest independent car and truck show on the East Coast” with 2,500 cars and trucks from all over the United States.
