Veterans from every military branch gather each year to compete in the Golf Buddy Veterans Golf Classic Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 400 United States Military members and friends will flock to the beach for the 25th annual event held May 19-22, 2024 at 20 different Grand Strand golf courses.
Register your team today for the Veterans Golf Classic which includes three exciting rounds of golf, a welcome bag stuffed with goodies for each day of play. Teams of two must include at least one member of who has served in the United States Military. The cost to register is $359 per person. There is currently a waitlist to be entered in this year’s event.
Event Schedule
Sunday, May 19
There is an optional Skins Game at The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University. Check-in at the PGA Superstore across from Broadway at the Beach from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and collect your participant badge and gift bag filled with swag like a $50 gift card from The Hangout Myrtle Beach, a JDX brand tournament logoed polo, and a dozen golf balls. (Items subject to change)
A Welcome Party will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Hangout for a chance to use up your gift cards.
Monday, May 20
Round One begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. at courses like Sea Trail Jones, Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Burning Ridge, Founders Club, Blackmoor, Long Bay, and Eagle Next golf courses. This first round will be played as a Best Ball round. Each player will play his own ball and the player with the lowest score will be recorded for that hole.

Tuesday, May 21
Round two begins at 8:30 a.m. at more popular courses like Tradition, River Hills, Wachesaw East, Litchfield, Myrtle Beach National South Creek, and International Club golf courses. This round will be played as a combined score Texas scramble where players will use 70% of their tournament index.
Wednesday, May 22
Round three will begin at 8:30 a.m. at more great courses including Rivers Edge, River Hills, Prestwick, Hackler Course, Meadowlands, Arrowhead, Thistle, and Wild Wing golf courses. This third and final round will be played as a scramble with a minimum of six tee shots used per team member. The handicap will be calculated using 25% of each player’s handicap.
An awards banquet will be held at The Hangout from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the tournament’s final day. You do not have to present to pick up your award as they can be mailed out with postage paid by the winner.
