Veterans from every branch of the military gather each year to compete in the Golf Buddy Veterans Golf Classic Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 400 United States Military members and friends will flock to the beach for the 24th annual event held May 21-24, 2023 at 18 different Grand Strand golf courses.
Register your team today for the Veterans Golf Classic which includes three exciting rounds of golf, a welcome bag stuffed with goodies for each day of play. Teams of two must include at least one member of who has served in the United States Military. The cost to register is $359 per person. There is currently a wait list to be entered in this year’s event.
Event Schedule
Sunday, May 21
Check-in at the PGA Superstore across from Broadway at the Beach from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and collect your participant badge and gift bag filled with swag like a $50 gift card from Homegrown Hospitality Group, a polo, and a dozen golf balls. (Items subject to change)
Monday, May 22
Round One begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. at courses like Pawleys Plantation, Aberdeen, The Wizard, Burning Ridge, Founders Club, Blackmoor and Sandpiper Bay golf courses. This first round will be played as a Best Ball round. Each player will play his own ball and the player with the lowest score will be recorded for that hole.
Tuesday, May 23
Round two begins at 8:30 a.m. at more popular courses like Diamond Back, Man O’ War, Long Bay, Tradition, River Hills, Shaftesbury Glenn, Arrowhead and The Wizard golf courses. This round will be played as a combined score Texas scramble with the caveat that each player’s tee shot be used a minimum of six times after 18 holes.
Wednesday, May 24
Round three will begin at 8:30 a.m. at more great courses including Hackler Course, True Blue, Blackmoor, Meadowlands, Shaftesbury Glenn, Arrowhead and The Wizard golf courses. This third and final round will be played as a scramble where players hit from the best tee shot.
An awards banquet will be held at the host courses on the final day of the tournament.
