North Myrtle Beach will be hosting the 20th Annual Irish-Italian International Festival on Saturday, September 28th. Main Street will be full of music, food and activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. so bring the whole family for some international fun! Admission is free in this rain or shine event. Live Music
The Irish Stage Sponsored by Flynn’s Irish Tavern
There are two stages that will have live music being performed all throughout the festival. The Irish Stage will start with a performance by an Irish band Barleyjuice from 10-11:30 a.m.
Coastal Carolina Shields and Pipes will play at 11:30 a.m. followed immediately by Treehouse from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Reggie Sullivan Band will wrap up entertainment on that stage and play from 2 to 4:00 p.m.
Italian International Stage Sponsored by Freedom Boat Club
Vince Chairelli, an Italian vocalist, will perform live from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Southside Saints will play from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Six Piece Suits will close the festival from 2-4:00 p.m.
The Spaghetti Eating contest is sponsored by Ledo Pizza and will start at 1:30 p.m. on the stage to see who can clear their full plates of spaghetti without using their hands. The winner will receive bragging rights for the year and a nice prize! Participants can register at the information booth between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Other Entertainment
Local restaurants will have food available at the Irish Italian Festival and will compete for Best Entrée, Best Decorated and Best Dessert while you compete in the spaghetti eating competition! Be the first to clear your plate, without using your hands, and win a plaque and ultimate bragging rights…at least until the 19th annual festival. You can stop by for an Irish pint at Flynn’s Paddy Wagon and then start exploring!
If you’re into arts & crafts then you will love walking around visiting the different booths from vendor applicants. Bring the kids and let them enjoy the children’s area with rides, inflatables, and magicians! There will also be street performers and dance groups following the international theme throughout the festival.
Parking
The public parking lot beside the Convenience Store & More at 250 Main Street is a good place for handicap parking. The North Myrtle Beach Family Practice at 86 Cedar Avenue is also available for wheelchair accessible parking. Additional public parking is available near McLean Park and in the BiLo Shopping Center on Main Street.
