Are you a lover of wine? How about Muscadine wine? Duplin Winery has opened their second location in the North Myrtle Beach resorts area. The 15,000 square foot location offers wine tastings, events, live music, shopping, food, and winemaking demonstrations. We’re here to tell you more about Duplin Winery and why you should plan a visit!
Located near the North Beach Resorts and Villas, Duplin Winery is located in Rose Hill, North Carolina and is the largest winery in the South. The vineyard has been operating since the 1970s when the Fussell family decided to start selling their Muscadine grapes and begin making wine. 13 years later in 1983, production levels were at an all-time high of 200,000 gallons per year. After changes in tax laws and new legislation, the bank took everything but the winery itself. However, the family was not ready to give up, and it’s good thing they didn’t!
Today, the winery produces the bestselling wine in North Carolina and has a tank capacity of over 1.4 million gallons. There are more than 100,000 visitors each year that come to Rose Hill ready to experience Duplin Winery. Their wine has even been featured in Martha Stewart Living as a favorite summertime wine. Now folks in North Myrtle Beach can experience this treat in their backyard!
The folks of Duplin Winery are all about having a good time. When you walk into the new North Myrtle Beach location, you will be greeted with the finest southern hospitality. The first stop is the tasting station where visitors can sample up to 15 different Muscadine wines. During the tasting, guests will learn more about Duplin Winery and their history, plus get to sample some delicious food.
After you finish the tasting, head on into the gift shop and purchase some of the delicious wines. There are many other great finds in the shop including wine racks, wine openers, wine towels, foods, and more. End the afternoon by heading out to the garden and enjoying some live music with friends and family. It’s a great time that you won’t want to miss!
