Have you heard about the Sports Tourism Complex being built in North Myrtle Beach resorts and condos area? This is exciting stuff for the entire area and will be bringing an estimated tens of thousands of people into the area every year – that’s over and above those that already come here to vacation!
This sports complex is located on Robert Edge Parkway off SC-31 in North Myrtle Beach and is on target for opening March 1, 2014. Sprawled across 145 acres the complex includes a park that preserves 12 acres of lawn, an outdoor amphitheater that can accommodate large performances, a 27-acre lake, and a 2,300 sq ft Veteran’s Plaza with flag poles and seating.
Teams are already reserving space on the 6 baseball/softball fields and 8 soccer/lacrosse fields of which all have lighting for night play. In addition, there will be 8 batting cages, 3 miles of walking trails around a nature preserve, and a fenced in 1-acre dog park. This will be an ideal location for any family to come enjoy time outdoors together, maybe enjoy a picnic, as there are 6 picnic shelters and 3 playgrounds available for use.
