Orlando, Florida, is a hotbed of the arts and entertainment industry, which is why the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival was founded to celebrate and support the artist community.
The annual 14-day Orlando Fringe, the longest running Fringe Theatre Festival in the United States, is set to take the stage May 17-30, 2022 in various venues throughout the city. Be prepared to venture outside your comfort zone, as the Orlando Fringe Festival is known to be completely uncensored.
Tickets range from free to $15 and Fringe buttons are required to enter all events. A true pillar of the cultural artist movement, the arts festival donates 100 percent of sales back to the artists through sponsors, such as the United Arts of Central Florida, Culture Builds Florida, Arts & Cultural Affairs of Orange County, and the Florida Theatrical Association.

Kids Fringe
Taking place on Saturdays and Sundays during Fringe, this free event is a festival within the Fringe festival, packed with fun kids activities and entertainment.
Visual Fringe
This portion of the festival is centered on the showpieces of visual art, where artists push beyond their usual medium and subject matter. The Visual Fringe Gallery isn’t a traditional exhibit; anything hanging on the walls (paintings, drawings, photographs) or on pedestals (ceramics, sculptures) throughout the festival grounds is part of Visual Fringe.
Fringers of the Future
Fringe Teens is a stage that celebrates the new generation of talented Fringe artists in the form of performers, writers, producers and technicians. Orlando Fringe actually holds a separate lottery for Orlando area middle and high school drama troupes to apply to perform at the festival for free. The winners will then learn from the best of the industry through guided workshops and seminars.
Food & Beverages
All of these shows will have you working up an appetite or driving the thirst for some world-famous beer and booze. Good thing the Fringe Lawn hosts the famous Beer Tent, a Booze Tent, and a smorgasbord of food vendors to please your palate.
The Outdoor Stage
Theatrical and visual performers aren’t the only artists to showcase their work. Musicians from around the world will play The Outdoor Stage at the Fringe and you won’t want to miss a beat. In fact, the Fringe is named one of the best live music events in Central Florida.
