The Island – A Pigeon Forge Entertainment Experience

Get ready for the time of your life. The Island at Pigeon Forge is 23 acres of fun, shopping, restaurants and lodging. Voted as one of the Top 10 amusement parks in the world, The Island seriously has something for everyone. Don’t worry about getting around once you’re there. There’s a tram that runs constantly taking you wherever you’d like to go plus plenty of seating to simply sit for a spell. Admission is free!

Located at 131 Island Drive, you’ll find the large complex right smack dab in the thick of things in Pigeon Forge, but you’ll most likely want to spend the day (or two) there. We’ve got a list of a few of our favorite things to do at The Island. There’s so much to explore, you’ll find a difficult time deciding what your favorite is.

The Fun

Hop on board The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, one of the tallest ferris wheels in the Southeast, and you can see for miles. You’re inside comfortable glass gondolas and the mountains and surrounding area views are simply stunning.

The Island

The Island Fountain Show is set to music and timed to music with lights and water reaching upwards of 60 feet. It never fails to delight views and it’s not only a technological masterpiece but beautiful and serene. Shows last about 30 minutes and begin at the top of each hour.

The Mirror Maze is over 3000 square feet of mirrors. Keep your wits about you because we found it difficult to find which way was up! If you’re into playing games while maneuvering thought endless mazes of mirrors, try your hand at Lazer Maze or their newest addition, Atomic Rush. Try NOT to laugh.

7D Dark Adventure is for thrill-seekers. Battle zombies, werewolves and other evil-doers, all from the comfort of your chair. You’ll don glasses, grab a “gun” and make sure the world’s a safer place without all the wicked things that go bump on the screen. It’s a realistic and fun adventure, complete with video, sound and movement.

The Escape Game is not to be missed. There are five different adventures to choose from and they’re all #1 rated on TripAdvisor. You’ll have to figure out how to “escape” using your wits, skills and clues provided.

The Alcatraz East Crime Museum is fascinating with five galleries to explore. You’ll also get to view unbelievable artifacts from some of the nation’s most notorious crime scenes.

The Food

The Island restaurants, eateries and snack shops are top-notch and there’s 18 of them inside the complex. We love the Margaritaville where’s it’s always five o’clock somewhere. The food and ambiance is inspired by Jimmy Buffet’s song and sitting on the deck overlooking the Little Pigeon River with live music playing is pretty fantastic. To try: Caribbean Egg Rolls, Crispy Coconut Shrimp and the Island Cuban Sandwich. And of course, a margarita!

Food At The Island Pigeon Forge

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen is huge and so is the hospitality. Mountain and fountain views are plentiful while dining and the giant retail store is right next door. Be sure to try the fried chicken and the banana pudding! There’s also bars and quick pick up food, along with sweet treat eateries and bakeries. Stroll and see the sights while snacking.

The Shopping and The Rest

For those who love to shop ’til you drop, you can most assuredly do that at The Island. There are 60 shops with everything from toys, clothing, foodstuffs, candy, souvenirs, shoes, sunglasses and spa packages. There’s literally something for everyone.

Shopping At The Island Pigeon Forge

We like home decor at Farmhouse 9110; St. Somewhere Spa (the 60-minute Swedish massage is incredible!); and the Earthbound Trading Company, where you can find your zen and the perfect outfit for a night out.

The Cosmic Pen Caricature is the place to go so that you and your special someone has a digital (or drawing) caricature of your most unique features (plus it’s fun!).

Pick up some wine at Bootleggers Homemade Wine, moonshine and listen to live music at Old Smoky Mountain Moonshine, and any kind of jerky (try the Pepper Garlic Salmon and Peppercorn Smoked Beef!) you can imagine at the Beef Jerky Outlet.

The Island Pigeon Forge

Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville store has island swag and more and Paula Deen’s ginormous store has any and everything you could ever want for the home.

The Island’s hours of operation are listed here for 2018.
