What could be better than October weather and a sippin’ Saturday in sunny Sandestin, Florida! A festive atmosphere, warm, crisp breezes and, of course, lots of beer make up the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival!
This year’s event features an array of beers varying in flavor, type and style. You’ll get to sip and savor all kinds of domestic and international craft beers for the tastin’ from light pale ales to rich dark stouts. There’s even some of the yet-to-be-released fall beers. With more than 40 breweries, local and from all over, serving more than 200 craft beers, the 2018 Baytowne Beer Fest features plenty of tastings of specialty and seasonal kinds. And take it from us, the local breweries are some of the very best!
And the beautifully aesthetic venue, the Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin’s popular shopping and entertainment locale, hosts the festival each fall, which has claimed its spot as the “Best Beer Fest on the Emerald Coast.” As one of the first beer fests in the area, it does not disappoint whether you’re a connoisseur beer lover or one who simply likes to try the new, the fun, the exciting varieties of the sensational suds, all in a salty air atmosphere—a perfect pairing and utmost reason for a fall getaway to the beach.
You’ll want to be in town by Friday night at 6 p.m. for “Friday Beer From Around Here,” featuring samples from local brewers paired with appetizers from restaurants in The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Oh, and local favorite, Forrest Williams Band, will be performing on the Events Plaza lawn. A win-win!
During the main Craft Beer Tasting event, Sat., Oct. 13, 2 to 6 p.m., brewery reps will be serving and discussing the different types of lagers, ales, stouts, porters, and other styles. As a ticket-holder, you’ll receive a Baytowne Beer Festival glass for the tastings, and you’ll hear live music all afternoon performed by The Modern Eldorados and The Moon Lagoons.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know the different types of lagers and ales not only by tasting, but also from free seminars. Live tunes will also emanate during your sippin’, savoring and sampling of suds during the festival.
So, pack your bags and head to the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival to discover your new favorite American specialty brew and much more!
