Thousands of beach goers head south for the Fall SOS in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The Society of Stranders flock to Main Street during this popular event held from September 12-22, 2024 to embrace and celebrate the State’s historical dance, The Shag!
Local bars and restaurants will be pumping out the classic beach music as Shaggers groove the night away. Plenty of live music from local stars to nationally renowned acts, special events, and dance contests will satisfy everyone from the casual dancer to the most accomplished of professionals. Hot spots include Duck’s, Duck’s II, Fat Harold’s, the OD Arcade, and the clubs at OD Beach and Golf Resort. Tea Parties are also planned throughout the migration as well as lessons with shag dance instructors.
Gear up for the kick-off event dubbed “Fun Monday” held the only Monday during Fall SOS! On Monday, September 16 gather along Main Street for the biggest block party of the year with live music, dancing in the street, and raffles to win great prizes and cash. This year’s entertainment lineup includes The Swingin’ Medallions, East Coast Party Band, and Rivermist. Ray Scott will serve as MC at Fun Monday which will take place from 12-5:30 p.m.
Not a dancer but still want to be a part of all the action? No problem! Book a North Myrtle Beach vacation, bring a chair, and join the crowd during one of the two huge block parties held during annual SOS Fall Migration, right in the middle of Main Street. Free Block parties are held on the first Sunday and only Monday of Fall SOS.
