Festival Event Details

The annual Musical Echoes Native American Flute Festival is set to make beautiful music for hundreds of guests April 26-28 at Fort Walton Beach Landing Park in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. It’s been a cultural tradition since 2001 along the Emerald Coast, where Native American flute makers, musicians and performers gather to showcase the beauty of their heritage.

Flute Festival

This year’s three-day Native American Flute Festival features a packed schedule of live performances, including Shelley Morningsong (Native American music award-winner), her husband Fabian Fontenelle (traditional northern plains-style dancing, storytelling and drumming), Injunuity (internationally renowned Native American flute-centric roots group),

Kevin Locke, (a world-famous hoop dancer), the Poarch Creek Indians, Winddancer Uncivilized, Gareth, Ed Winddancer, Matthew Tooni, Nation of Change, and the Thunderbird Honor Guard.

Additional activities include an art and flute makers’ competition with cash prizes, a free beginners Native American flute playing class led by Robin Horne Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m., kids’ activities, a torchlight ceremony, and raffle, live and silent auctions with some hefty prizes.

The totem for 2019 will be the Great Blue Heron, which is the theme of the arts and flute competition. A delicious lineup of food stands will also be on-hand. And art vendors will be selling beautifully crafted wares, including hand-carved flutes, sculptures, leather work, jewelry and more.

Festival hours are Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. (start time of the last act on stage); Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (start time of the last act on stage); and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
