The Myrtle Beach area is home to several small breweries and large taphouses (with even more to come) that host annual events, and live music, and create house-brewed beers and seltzers to please almost any palate. Each local brewery has its own story and set up so we recommend trying out a few to find your new favorite place to sip on a cold one! Here’s a list of breweries in and around Myrtle Beach to check out during your next beach vacation.
Crooked Hammock Brewery
4927 Hwy. 17 S., North Myrtle Beach, SC

Crooked Hammock Brewery at Barefoot Landing is an expansive brewery with plenty of space to hang out and sip on some cold, handcrafted beers. Family-friendly and full of fun, this brewery is a must-do in North Myrtle Beach. Take your pick of outdoor lounge chairs, tables, dozy spots around a fire pit, indoor tables, or a seat at the indoor/outdoor bar. They’ve even got a beer truck in the yard for easy refills. Want some water views? Take a seat around the enormous Tortuga Island Bar! Their brews rotate seasonally and can be purchased in cans to take back to your condo. Some of their favorites are Banana Hammock, Jingle Berry, Beach Escape IPA Session, and the tasty seltzers. They have a large food menu with items for everyone including Hammock Sliders, Super Smash Burger, Honey Fried Chicken, and Longboard Nachos.
Grand Strand Brewing Co.
819 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC

Grand Strand Brewing Co. opened in the downtown Myrtle Beach area in early 2021 in conjunction with the downtown revitalization project. The expansive building offers large tables, bar seating, and a great view of the brewing process. The exterior has picnic tables, cornhole sets, and other bar games. All of their beer is “made at the beach” and includes selections like Beach Easy, Airbrush Hazy IPA, Jolene Red Ale, and Salty Golfer Pineapple Blonde. Grand Strand Brewing also crafts seasonal brews and hosts a slew of annual events and live music. Look for selections at local restaurants and grocery stores too!
New South Brewing
1109 Campbell St., Myrtle Beach, SC

New South Brewing has been serving its flavorful beers in the Myrtle Beach area since 1998 and produces nearly 3,000 barrels each year. The unassuming warehouse-style building is tucked in its own little world in central Myrtle Beach and has indoor and outdoor seating. Their popular brews can be spotted by the unique designs on the cans and taps like the bright pink flamingo that flocks the cans of Dirty Myrtle Double IPA. Other favorites include Java the Nut, a traditional White Ale, Dark Star Porter, and Drink a Peach. New South is a local favorite but welcomes visitors to its Taproom. They host events, new beer releases, live music, and food trucks regularly.
Southern Hops Brewing Company
5148 Hwy. 17 Bus., Murrells Inlet, SC

Make your way south to Murrells Inlet to visit Southern Hops Brewing Company. The casual restaurant has large garage doors that open during warmer days, indoor tables, outdoor seating, and a large bar in the center. The beer list includes 16 housemade brews on tap as well as guest brews, bottles, cans, bombers, wine, and N/A options. Their highest-rated beers include Inlet Haze IPA, Woooo-Tang!, Deez-Coco-Nutz, and Sunset Summer Ale. The menu at Southern Hops has a long list of appetizers, double-baked wings, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas. Pro-tip: Order The Luigi pizza made with garlic and olive oil, Prosciutto, Arugula, Mozzarella, and cracked black pepper.
Tidal Creek Brewhouse
3421 Knoles St., Myrtle Beach, SC

Located at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach, Tidal Creek Brewhouse has quickly earned a spot as one of the top breweries in the area. Their locally crafted beer is proudly brewed on-site – just take a peep at the barrels as you head from the indoor bar out to the back patio. Top beers include the Beam Reach IPA, Blackwater Brown, Tradewinds Tropical Stout, and Coastlines. Their craft kitchen offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menus with plenty of Lowcountry dishes. An expansive beer garden (complete with a K9 Korral) can be found out back with casual seating and a beer truck. They host almost any kind of event you can think of from chess clubs to boot camp workouts. You’ll also find live music on weekend nights.
Voodoo Brewing Co.
1318 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, SC

Voodoo Brewing Co. opened its Myrtle Beach location at Broadway at the Beach in May of 2024. The Brewpub serves award-winning beers including Big Black Voodoo Daddy, Shenanigans Green Kolsch, Voodoo Love Child, and guest brews. Bring your appetite to Voodoo Brewing Co. because they’ve got a jam-packed menu featuring a pub pretzel, Pimento Cheese dip, wings, signature burgers, pizzas, beer mussels, salads, wraps, sandwiches, and even quinoa bowls. They have trivia nights and weekday happy hour specials with discounted cocktails, beers, and wines.
