Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach (and the surrounding communities) area home to a bevy of Halloween-themed events throughout the month of October. Enjoy the beautiful weather and head out to a costume contest or a Halloween party with scenic views and plenty of treats! We’ve broken it down to some of the top events in the South Strand, North Myrtle Beach, and the Myrtle Beach area.
Myrtle Beach Halloween Events
Broadway at the Beach will host their annual Halloween Bash on The Avenues with a live DJ and prizes for the best costumes. The fun starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 25.
Take your little ones trick-or-treating around Broadway at the Beach from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, October 31.
Ripley’s Aquarium is throwing a Glow Party on Saturday, October 25 from 7-9 p.m. This after hours party is family-friendly and will have a live DJ, glow favors, a Spooky Mermaid, games, and a cash bar. Tickets are on sale now.
Downtown Myrtle Beach will host Friday Night Fright Nights beginning October 4 with family-friendly entertainment and live music from 6-8 p.m. Saturday Night Fright Nights will have more live music and entertainment plus Halloween-themed shows from 5-8 p.m. Sunday Afternoon Fright Nights will include live music and more Halloween fun from 1-4 p.m. in Plyler Park along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Look out for Zombies if you come during the Fright Nights!
The Market Common’s Hometown Halloween will be held on Friday, October 31 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Shops with an orange balloon will be participating in trick-or-treating. There will be witches, goblins, ghosts, and more haunting the complex.
Nightmare Haunted House in downtown Myrtle Beach has been scaring folks since 1989. This year’s theme is Zombie Zone Undead Adventure and the attraction opens daily at noon!
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is open at noon all month long. The downtown attraction has turned into a haunted manor and your job is to escape the murder mystery twists and turns throughout the tour. Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is recommended for ages 6 and older.
The City of Halloween, SC (also known as Conway during the other months of the year) has a slew of Halloween-themed events planned all month long. Drive to this charming city that’s filled with pumpkin adorned trees, spooky skeletons, A Wizard of Oz-themed zone, and a pumpkin patch. They’ll be hosting Pirate Adventures, Ghost Excursions, a BBQ festival, a Witches Paddle Pub, Ghost tours, and even a Skeleton Disco. North Myrtle Beach Halloween Events
BooFest! is back at Barefoot Landing! Bring your kids (furry ones too!) out to the complex for a costume contest, inflatables, a pumpkin patch and special activities. BooFest! will be held from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, October 25. Stick around for a free showing of Hocus Pocus on the Dockside Village Amphitheater Lawn starting at 7pm!
Join North Myrtle Beach for the annual Halloween BOOnanza party with magic shows, games, trick or treating and marshmallow roasting. Howl-o-Scream will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Entry for ages 3 and up is $5 (cash only) and children 2 and under are free! Concessions are also available for additional fees.
Trick or Treat at Barefoot Landing on Halloween night! Bring your kids in costume out from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 31 to walk around and collect candy from participating stores.
South Strand Halloween Events
Halloween on the MarshWalk is planned for October 31 at participating restaurants in Murrells Inlet. Trick-or-treating begins at 5 p.m. followed by a kids’ costume contest at 6 p.m. near Drunken Jack’s. The adult costume contest will begin at 7 p.m. with more than $4,000 in cash and prizes. Be sure to register between 7-8:30 p.m. near Drunken Jack’s and Wahoo’s to enter the costume contest and be sure to explore the restaurants and live entertainment along the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.
